A 20th Anniversary Chronicle

For the second instalment of this 20th anniversary blog-post series, we wanted to shed some light on The Reap, our other series of space-shooters for PC.

“It’s hard to remember how The Reap happened. We had a NEOGEO at the office, and we didn’t want to (or could) do a sequel to Super Stardust at the time – Viewpoint for NEOGEO was a very cool game and we decided to do something along those lines.”

And that’s where things start to get a bit hazy and the anecdotes about development change according to whom we ask to, so perhaps it’s better if we leave you with a gameplay video of The Reap, one of it’s inspirator’s Viewpoint, a bunch of original marketing material and an enthusiastic review from 1997.
