The beautifully rendered world of Furmins hits the App Store today

HELSINKI, FINLAND – February 2, 2012

Independent Finnish developer Housemarque, the critically acclaimed studio behind Super Stardust HD, Outland and Dead Nation, have today released Furmins, a physics based action puzzle game releasing for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

Furmins finds players attempting to guide the eponymous and loveable creatures across fiendishly designed levels by rearranging a variety of items as well as using bumpers and conveyor belts in real-time with well coordinated precision. Their quest – to travel across the length of their world to wake up their King who has fallen asleep, rolled over a river forming an impromptu dam, blocking their flow of water and threatening their very existence! Strategically placed items create pathways and physical chain reactions which guide the furmins to the basket and level completion.

The game is available in two versions; a Universal app along with a less expensive iPhone/iPod version. Both contain the full game containing over 70 levels across 6 game worlds, as well as hosting in-app purchases for additional downloadable content.

Housemarque releases self-funded Dead Nation DLC Road of Devastation

HELSINKI, FINLAND – September 27, 2011

Independent Finnish developer Housemarque, the critically acclaimed studio behind Super Stardust HD, Outland, Dead Nation and upcoming Furmins, have today released the first DLC for ‘PlayStation(R) Network exclusive smash hit Dead Nation in North America. “Road of Devastation” DLC offers gamers new gameplay content and challenges both in single player and co-op modes. The DLC is released on the 28th of September in Europe and other available regions.

“Road of Devastation” DLC was continuously in the development since the launch of the original game for over eight months. This represent as the single biggest development effort on DLC Housemarque has done to further support a game after the release.

“After the initial release of the game, we talked with Sony and made a unique arrangement to bring the DLC to the market. We funded the development and Sony published the additional content.” says Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen. “We certainly hope that our fans will appreciate our efforts as we think “Road of Devastation” DLC offers hours of fun for both veteran and novice Dead Nation players.”

Dead Nation DLC “Road Of Devastation” will present you with a variety of new tools and equipment to dispose of your enemies, while introducing new enemies and obstacles encountered in unique new environments. Since the launch of the game, Dead Nation has been a top selling PSN title having fans all around the globe. After being included in Welcome Pack offering has helped the game to reach over 3,8 million downloads.

The DLC is priced at $3,99USD/€3,99EUR/£3,49GBP. The pricing for other territories can be found at the local Playstation Stores. The DLC contains both single and co-op modes (off-line and online) and add new Trophies as well. Millions of Dead Nation recruits fighting against the spreading of dreadful zombie virus are now facing new challenges, when they need to travel “Road Of Devastation” in a DLC pack soon available for download exclusively on PSN.

“We’ve been working hard since the launch of Dead Nation to bring exciting new content to the fans of the game” says Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen. “Since the launch of the game, Dead Nation has been a top selling PSN title having fans all around the globe. Continuing from the events where the original game left off (or, is it actually the other way around…), you’ll find Road of Devastation will put your skills to the ultimate test. You’ll find yourself waking up in a laboratory with only one way out. Outside the door you’re presented with a choice – you’re faced with a crossroads leading to three different roads, each with their own unique environments, challenges and enemies waiting for you.

In addition to the range of enemies and weapons already familiar from the original game, Road of Devastation will present you with a variety of new tools and equipment to dispose of your enemies with, while introducing new enemies and obstacles encountered in unique new environments.

Housemarque announces Furmins for iOS

HELSINKI, FINLAND – August 24, 2011 – Independent Finnish developer Housemarque, the critically acclaimed studio behind Super Stardust HD, Outland and Dead Nation, have announced their next title, Furmins, a physics based action puzzle game releasing on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch later this year.Making its behind-closed-doors playable debut at Gamescom 2011 in Cologne to the world’s gaming media, Furmins finds players attempting to guide the eponymous and loveable creatures across fiendishly designed levels by rearranging a variety of items as well as using bumpers and conveyor belts in real-time with well coordinated precision. Strategically placed items create pathways and physical chain reactions which guide the Furmins to the basket and level completion.

Releasing in two versions, the Freemium game will be a universal app containing 12 playable levels across one game world. This will then be supported by in-app purchases to enable players to download content. The Premium game will be available in two versions; a universal app, and a less expensive iPhone/iPod version. Both will contain the full game containing over 40 levels across 4 game worlds, as well as supporting in-app purchases for additional downloadable content.
