THE REAP - World 2 (written by Simon Coong)

CUT SCENE #2

This level is the quintessential underwater level, complete with organic matter and water...what is that thing the subs are lugging around? Guess we'll find out later...(reminds me of that blobby thing in Dune, no? Malc)

UNDERWATER LABS

The first stop is the UNDERWATER LABS. As this is an underwater level, the first thing that assaults you when you start are a few small submarines. While not being too hard to dodge, the are a bit of a nuisance and swarm after you in droves. They are quite thickly armored, so a high powered weapon is needed to blast 'em away.

These even smaller subs come after you next. These underwater wimps stand no chance against a nicely powered weapon such as the Electric Spline...

Now these enemies I hate. Tough armored and powerful, they have nasty plasma beams which can kill you very easily unless you kill 'em first.

These walkers are also quite annoying. As anything can hurt you in this game, these walkers can do a lot of damage just by walking into you. And that's quite weak compared to their plasma weapons!

This underwater train is carrying loads of passengers! As this is an extermination mission blow them all up!!! They take quite a lot of hits though so highpowered weapons do the most damage.

MINEFIELD!

These are nasty, as if you try to pass them, they come after your ship! Fully powered Blue Plasma has a spread big enough to get you through this area safely.

Big bad subs take up most of the room on the screen and try to ram you as they pass! They also fire small homing torpedos, but give HUGE bonuses if you can waste them! Also, watch out for baby subs...they are far more annoying, as they track your ship and come equipped with plasma guns!

Mines and turrets don't make a very healthy mix... (neither does jam and cheese - my gran used to feed me that - Malc)

The influences from classic shooters shine through in this game. The Electric Spline is a shameless version of the purple homing beam in Raiden 2 and later sequels. These bubbles could have been inspired by Gradius III. They are beautiful, aren't they?

Pop 'em with extreme prejudice!!!

ALIEN ATLANTIS

Into the ALIEN ATLANTIS these hammerhead sharks swarm (and I mean swarm!) towards your little spacecraft! An excellent oppurtunity to raise the score here!

These droids turn up once again to remove you of a few lives. The fully powered Electric Spline is one of the best weapons for the second phase. Looks lovely, doesnt it?

Bubbles and big submarines come back for more. Blast them to bits!

Another underwater minefield. I think this is the start of phase 3, BIOSPHERES.

The smaller subs are back and they mean business! Still as weak as ever, they flood after you in an attempt to put you off and take some damage. Electris Spline 'em into oblivion!

These small dart shaped subs can be very frustrating, but thankfully they are quite weak. A good powerful weapon should take care of 'em in no time.

The Electric Spline in operation against a few turrets. When fully powered this beam can make short work of even the hardest enemies.

Dart subs and small subs come after you for one last attempt to blow you up. By now weapons should be at maximum power so they shouldn't pose much threat to the spaceship.

The world 2 boss...wait a minute...I recognise this thing...it's what the subs were towing in the cutscene!! Squiddy is an immense pain to fight.

He tries to bash you with his tentacles and throws homing plasma at you first...

(at least he didn't try it with his testicles and threw humming grandmas eh? Damn I knew I should have stopped at 5 beers. Malc. Hic.Whaa??)

WORLD 3 comin' up peeps....
