HELSINKI, FINLAND – September 6, 2011
Independent Finnish developer Housemarque, the critically acclaimed studio behind Super Stardust HD, Outland, Dead Nation and upcoming Furmins, have today announced new DLC content for ‘PlayStation(R) Network exclusive smash hit Dead Nation.
Millions of Dead Nation recruits fighting against the spreading of dreadful zombie virus are now facing new challenges, when they need to travel “Road Of Devastation” in a DLC pack soon available for download exclusively on PSN.
“We’ve been working hard since the launch of Dead Nation to bring exciting new content to the fans of the game” says Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen. “Since the launch of the game, Dead Nation has been a top selling PSN title having fans all around the globe. After being included in Welcome Pack offering has helped the game to reach over 3,8 millions downloads, which is simply mindboggling and unheard of for a PSN game.”

You’ll find yourself waking up in a laboratory with only one way out. Outside the door you’re presented with a choice – you’re faced with a crossroads leading to three different roads, each with their own unique environments, challenges and enemies waiting for you.

In addition to the range of enemies and weapons already familiar from the original game, Road of Devastation will present you with a variety of new tools and equipment to dispose of your enemies with, while introducing new enemies and obstacles encountered in unique new environments.
Pricing and the release date are announced soon. Further news and details on Road of Devastation DLC are updated to our facebook pages www.facebook.com/DeadNation and Playstation blog posts. How about a nice stratgey guide that has details of the characters , the weapons , walkthroughs and everything ? I would love to buy a strategy guide for Dead Nation and the upcoming Road to Devastation . Do you know of a good walk through ? I am in the graveyard just past the hospital and i got there just using the rifle fully upgraded , now with the 4 screaming monsters inside the tombs and only 2 sticks of dynamite , i am over run , if there is a trick to it I am not seeing , I will keep working at it .
Thanks again
Philip

Yes there is a trick to it – no dynamite lol and speed.
Equip shotgun fully upgraded run to first chuck flare shotgun wall running I to it – then after kill immediately run to next chuck flare mine whatever and repeat the process. If you do it quick enough sometimes sone of the specials do not appear
try it.

This is incredible! Just finished the campaign yesterday with a friend of mine on top difficulty (Undead, I believe, is the right name) – WHAT A BLAST! We have, of course, played through all the levels of difficulties together.
The game was fun since the very beginning (in easier modes), but the challenge of the hard experience demands you to be VERY tactical, which is awesome. A few hints and tips from me:
1. Use the rifle as often as possible, fully upgraded ofc.
2. Use rocket launcher (+ dynamite + grenades if playing in Undead-mode) to kill off the Cutters. Circling cars and rubble will make it harder for them to get close.
2. Use flares + blade cannon for large groups of zombies (Especially cops, military and hazmat zombies), alt the shocker . The shocker tends to be more effective the closer they are and also better if they are spread out (for example, if you don’t have any flares).
3. Bombies explode from one blade with the blade cannon, regardless of level of difficulty. When they rush in groups of >5 this is very rewarding since it passes along them all.
4. Mouths and Jumpers: Get close up with a shotgun and just go nuts while using diversion for storming hordes of zombies (cars, vending machines, flares). Jumpers crashing down will also injure nearby zombies, use this tactically.
As already stated, a great game, and from a tactical viewpoint extremely rewarding in the long run, especially in co-op mode. Really looking forward to the DLC!
Oh, and, I don’t know if this is the right forum for it, but I’ve thought of some minor disturbing elements in the game:
1. If for example player 1 dies and player 2 makes it to checkpoint, player 1 will spawn only when the latter doors have opened, which means that he/she will have to buy guns and ammo each time both players die and start over. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying, at least when in Undead-mode and replaying time after time.
2. One button for full ammo refill (for all weapons) while in shop!
3. Small symbol, describing the kind of weapon at hand, beside the voice “Shotgun”, “Rifle”… When you’re being stormed by 1000 zombies you really don’t hear shit among all the explosions which sometimes makes it difficult to choose the right weapon while maintaining focus on screen. How about a symbol or text flashing on top of the character, highlighting the weapon chosen?
4. It would be nice if it was possible to continue from a local co-op game when in online mode (playing with the same friend). And it’s a bit of a shame that you can’t start a new co-op game while saving the old one, for example when you’re playing with different people in varying modes of difficulty.
5. Chainsaw!!! Preferably as an upgrade to the bayonet, kind of like the laser-upgrade.
Wow, this was an exhaustive entry.. Anyway, the game is great and I’m just telling you these things as a dedicated gamer with lots of ideas, maybe you’ll like some of them.
I’m sure the DLC will be a blast!

Hey guys, just a question. Will you continue to support this awesome game with DLC even after the Road of Devastation? Nothing like new and awesome ways to kill zombies.
Comment by Hakim on September 15, 2011 at 04:29
Future support depends almost solely on how well Road of Devastation is received among the fans of the game. DLC needs to sell quite well in order to justify further development, but we certainly are really optimistic that many of you will pick this up as we feel it gives you a lot. We spent over 8 months in the development, so it´s been the biggest DLC effort at Housemarque!

Saludos y ojala saquen nuevas actualizaciones
